WHAT IT MEANS. PROPITIATION WORD? Luke 18:13

Luke 18:13

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful (PROPITIATION) to me a sinner.

Today we will not study this well known story of the proud Pharisee religious in contrast to the humble publican who descended justified and exalted by his humility before God, This last, the Publican represents the Christian who does not trust his righteousness before God but justice of Christ to be justified from all their sins before God through faith in the blood of Jesus.
We'll see, SOMETHING FIRST FUNDAMENTAL IN THIS ISSUE, THE TECHNICAL PART OR THE DEFINITION OF THE WORD IN THE NEW TESTAMENT PROPITIATION. (NOT FEEL BORED WITH THIS PART, IS ESSENTIAL TO UNDERSTAND EXACTLY TEMA)
The Greek word here is "Jilaskomai" Luke 18:13 (Luke 18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.) " ENABLING KNOW ME A SINNER "and appears also" Jilaskomai "in Hebrews 2:17. (Hebrews 2:17 Wherefore should be made like unto his brethren, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to atone for the sins of the people. Jilaskomai is used with the Greek word family , we'll see: Jilasmos, Jilaskomai, Jilasterión and Jileos ... WILL SEE ON THIS NOW:
Also its derivative appears like "Jilasmos" appears in 1 John 2:2 (1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only but also for the whole world., And also "Jilasmos" appears in 1 John 4:10 (1Jo 4:10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.) Jilaskomai our first word used also with "Jilasterion" which is equivalent to the Hebrew word translated as mercy (lid of the ark) that appears in Romans 3:25 (Romans 3:25 whom God set forth as a propitiation through faith in his blood , to declare his righteousness, attentive to have overlooked in his patience, past sins) and "Jilasterion" also appears in Hebrews 9:5 (Heb 9:5 And over it the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat , of which we can not now speak particularly.). within the family also Jilaskomai our first word finally appears "Jileos" in Matthew 16:22 (Matthew 16:22 Then Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, Lord, have mercy on thee, This shall never happen to you.) "Have mercy on you" and "Jileos" also appears in Hebrews 8:12 (Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.).'ll be merciful to their injustices.
All these words we call family or propitiation Jilaskomai in our language. They have AT MOST, the idea that the blood of Christ brought us the change, instead of accepting the satisfaction wrath of God to us.
In our passage in Luke 18:13, which appears to call our first word of this family, The Word Jilaskomai. We will study more of the history of this word.
The Septuagint LXX which is the translation of the Old Testament into Greek by seventy Jewish approximate. Use Jilaskomai Greek word to translate the Hebrew word Kipper. That means from cover and continues to atone and pacify.
MEANING OF JILASKOMAI (Our first word) AND OTHER WORDS OF YOUR FAMILY:
Much of the meaning of these words comes from what it was used this word in society and time in which they were written these words in the Bible. For example the Greek word corresponding to gospel, was a word used to give some good news. So now we know the meaning in the Bible. -
Just as the word Gospel also have the word deacon or redemption (something like "Payment") This last word was used in the markets where sales of slaves, These words writers adopted the Greek language, for use in the Bible, then give Biblical meaning, deep meaning and important for all ages, so step with these words propitiation:
History of Greek words:
This word Jilaskomai as any of his family, is a Greek word often used by the heathen to appease the wrath of the gods. One of the infinite difference with these gods is that they. (These false gods). They were men who sought were the men who brought their god. BIBLICAL TRUTH But the infinite differences among the pagans is that our Biblical God is who we look to us "PUT AS GOD WHO PROPITIATION (Jilasterion, we saw) BY FAITH IN HIS BLOOD ... Romans 3:25 , Himself, God Himself, gave himself in sacrifice for us pleasing to Him Him
Jilaskomai then has a clear meaning that is the change that occurs in SACRIFICE Christ God, the blood of Christ shed for our sins,
Some commentators: With prudence plunge into the deep ocean of these truths and think AND SAY as follows: No change to God in his essence but in their treatment towards us as their dealings with us follows the pattern of his righteousness, just seeing us treat us as we are, we were the ones who change so the CHANGE IN TREATMENT NOT IN ESSENCE, has a different deal with us. When we believe in the blood of Christ shed for our sins, that we are cleansed from all sin and suddenly God no longer sees us in filth but clean and its treatment of us is this truth made by Christ on the cross for us and appropriate for us by faith. God changes in their treatment of us from the wrath to a loving God. It was, but we could not accept for our sins. His eternal love. (Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD said to me a long time has, saying: With love I have loved you therefore with lovingkindness). Your eternal love might apply, and we loved it, we could apply to be cleansed in the blood of Christ. The propitiation of God we did not ignore any of our sins, when they were paid off by the atoning blood of Christ is applied to us.
Difference between Atonement and Propitiation:
The most Bible we see in this difference is the following: Atonement is to annihilate our sins on the cross of Christ Romans 6:6 (Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, so that no longer serve sin.). Atonement is more focused on what happens to our sins by being placed as it were in the cross of Christ (ES ANNIHILATED FOREVER), but atonement is more focused to what God did in our Atonement, by the blood of Christ.
How good this that Atonement, in that word have the truth that God is pleased with us (Ephesians 1:6 ... To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the beloved :) by blood Christ, that God sees us welcome! MOST IS WONDERFUL!.
Satisfied in the righteousness of Christ which is ours. THIS FEED OUR LIFE ESPIIRITUAL PRODUCE MUCH JOY AND MUCH LOVE GOD AND THE TRINITY CHRIST.
This represents the Publican went down justified Christian is justified and reconciled for not trusting his own justice and trust in the mercy of God in Christ Jesus.
ENABLING HOW TO ALWAYS KEEP THE EYES OF GOD:
We entered this propitiation through faith in his blood as Romans 3:25 says: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness, attentive to have overlooked in his patience, past sins . Even today when we are in grace and in Christ we see clean, STILL have sin because we are sinners forever in our human condition. Every sin we distinguish in our Christian lives is our duty to confess delegate in the Lamb. Christ himself gives us the strength to trample our arrogant pride so strong and put all disobedience on the cross. Put hand our faith in the head by Lamb and delegate our sins. All our sins. And trust that Christ suffered for it, know that there are sins that we realize or perhaps for now they are on us. Yet rest in the cross and know that we are accepted in their blood or propitious, Romans 6:11 fully pleasing to the Father through Christ Ephesians 1:6. THANK GOD FOR THIS GREAT GRACE
